Dont most of his videos have his stupid face now so it’s easier to avoid him?
I think YouTube has finally learned that I won’t click on anything of his even though almost all my subscriptions are car related. Its stop ped suggesting his channel t o me.

He does have good advice, you just have to get through his style if it bugs you.

It appears I should be glad I don’t know what this is referencing.

His advice is “if it’s not a toyota made before 2002 it’s a piece of shit”
He sounds like my grandparents.

Yes, him in a denim hoodie pointing up at nothing with his index finger.

Yeah, but he has had some little tips and tricks that are cool.

I will admit — f rom like 2013, he had a video about using a cheater bar and turning the briefly cranking the ignition to spin the crankshaft pully bolt loose and it worked like a charm on my Tercel when I had to do the timing belt.

I didn’t realize we were supposed to hate Scotty Kilmer... I mean sure his videos are long and his style is funky, but it’s something to listen too and the advice can be sound.

He spits trash about any performance oriented car because it makes them less reliable. He’s a mechanic, not a car enthusiast.
His solution is to buy the most bland vehicle possible, therefore he is the enemy of any true Jalop.
I’m sure he helps people, but I avoid his videos like the plague.

I mean, I always kinda liked first gen CRVs, which he thinks are cockroaches... maybe I’ m the enemy of the Jalop...

I found his presentation style annoying. T he weird editing made it even worse. Y’know, how he says s omething then nods his head sharply and grins at the camera for a second or two before it cuts to the next clip... I stopped watching altogether upon seeing him recommend compression fittings for brake lines. T HAT was the last straw for me.

This is so accurate!

The presentation style is fair, but more of an opinion thing, however I can agree that getting a new brake line would be better than a compression fitting. Haven’t seen that video, but after doing a little digging I can see why the cheap fix he suggested might not be the right way to go.
